Key Hire Helps Motus Posture for More Robust Solutions and Platform Innovation
BOSTON, Mass., April 16, 2020 – Motus, the definitive leader in reimbursement solutions for businesses with mobile-enabled workforces, today announced it has appointed Karen O’Byrne as Chief Financial Officer to aid in the company’s next phase of growth. O’Byrne joins Motus following former CFO Tim Brown’s transition to Chief Corporate Development Officer at Motus earlier this year in order to focus on strategic acquisitions as the company continues to rapidly expand its platform.
“Critical times call for especially capable leaders. We couldn’t be more excited to have Karen join the Motus team as our CFO. Not only is she incredibly talented and an ideal fit for Motus’ culture, but she is joining Motus at a critical point of acceleration,” said Motus CEO Craig Powell. “Motus is uniquely positioned to fill a market need and offer more robust solutions to our customers during this time – our work from home reimbursement platform has never been more relevant – and Karen’s expertise will help us to continue to grow organically and inorganically as we focus on innovation for the mobile workforce. We’re so excited to have her on board!”
O’Byrne brings nearly thirty years of financial and operational experience to Motus, having lead growth-oriented technology companies in the healthcare, education and web services sectors. She is strategically minded, with a proven record of driving profit improvement, leading business growth, establishing and scaling efficient operations and building operationally focused teams. She has also received several accolades, including the Business Ambassador Award from Florida Governor Rick Scott and recognition as one of South Florida’s Most Influential Businesswomen and CFO of the year by the South Florida Business Journal.
“The business trajectory ahead of Motus made this role an extremely compelling opportunity, but its team and culture were what sealed the deal for me. It’s wonderful to be joining such a diverse, yet unified team at Motus,” said O’Byrne. “I’m thrilled to be joining at such a critical time and couldn’t be more excited about our future.”
Motus recently announced the acceleration and availability of its Remote Work Reimbursement product, providing insight into the costs associated with remote work to help businesses make reimbursement decisions related to their remote employees’ business use of personal devices, internet and home office expenses.
