We collect information from you in order to provide services on behalf of your employer for the administration of Motus programs and services. Information that may be collected includes name, email address, and other types of information such as Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, location (via GPS) and simple web page actions.

The information collected is used solely for the purposes of administering our services which may include:

  • – Compliance with program guidelines

We collect this information for Motus use only; we will not sell, trade, or rent this information to a third party.

Web beacons are transparent graphic images placed in emails or web pages to record the simple actions of users. Web beacons collect only limited information, such as time and date of a page being viewed, and a description of the page on which the web beacon resides (the URL). Motus uses web beacons to support analytical programs like Google Analytics and New Relic (our SLA monitoring system).


We may participate in targeted advertising. This means that, for example, when you visit our website, we or third party service providers or advertisers may use cookies (that they collect or that we provide to them) or other similar technologies to collect information about your use of our website or your online activities over time and across different websites. As you visit our website, cookies will be placed on your computer and information will be collected so that we can understand what you are interested in. If your employer subscribes to a Motus product or service that utilizes GPS functionality (whether via telematics or mobile device) we may collect information related to your location and route. Motus uses location and route data to provide products or services to you and/or your employer and for statistical reporting purposes. We also use this information to the extent reasonably necessary to provide and maintain our products and services.


We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data. These include security measures for and internal reviews of our data collection, storage, and processing practices. We also implement physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.

We restrict access to personal information to Motus employees, contractors, and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop, or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.


Motus processes personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We review our data collection, storage, and processing practices to ensure that we only collect, store, and process the personal information needed to provide or improve our services or as otherwise permitted under this Policy. We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we process is accurate, complete, and current, but we depend on our users to update or correct their personal information whenever necessary.


Motus will only share information with affiliated and/or contracted third parties in order to administer our services. These entities may include:

  • Service providers (i.e., insurance quotes, fuel prices, RMV information, and other entities who may provide services at Motus’ discretion)
  • Government agencies, other regulatory bodies, and law enforcement officials (i.e., for tax purposes, for reporting suspicious transactions, etc.)
