Motus Named a Finalist in the MassTLC Awards for Its Cutting-edge Cloud Platform Enabling Rapid Innovation
Docker-based Services Architecture and Custom Tools Allow Motus to Deliver New Functionality to Its Vehicle Management and Reimbursement Platform Dramatically Faster than Those on Traditional Platforms
Boston, Mass. – July 21, 2016 – Motus, provider of the most accurate vehicle management and reimbursement platform available, today announced that it has been named a finalist for the 2016 MassTLC Technology Leadership Awards in the “Best Use of Technology – Cloud” category for its new cloud platform, which allows engineers to develop, test, stage, deploy and monitor services with little to no involvement from the operations team.
Developed internally, Motus’ cloud platform – with a container-based services architecture – is leading the way in back-end technology, shortening and streamlining development cycles. Motus developers are able to spin up, update and share environments on-demand within minutes, as opposed to waiting days for the operations team to create one for them. They also benefit from a web portal for managing projects and improving communications and the ability to use Docker containers, which reduce differences between internal and production environments.
“Given the time investment and complexity of launching this type of environment, a very small percentage of companies have deployed it today. However, we expect that number to rise as others see how much of a difference it makes when it comes to developing products more efficiently, deploying faster and implementing client recommendations and features more rapidly, with fewer mistakes,” said Rick Blaisdell, Chief Technology Officer at Motus. “In our industry, this environment has given us a huge leg up on the competition and enables us to keep our clients at the leading-edge when it comes to vehicle management and reimbursement technologies.”
The MassTLC Technology Leadership Awards recognized finalists in 16 categories at an awards gala on July 19, 2016, shining a spotlight on the best executives, companies and innovative technologies in the region’s internationally respected tech industry. Finalists were selected from hundreds of nominations, as judged by panels of industry leaders in each of the categories.
“Congratulations to Motus on being named a finalist in the 2016 MassTLC Leadership Awards,” said MassTLC president and CEO Tom Hopcroft. “The finalists this year all exemplify the innovative, can-do spirt that has made Massachusetts a global leader for the past three centuries. We applaud Motus for their contribution to the Massachusetts ecosystem.”
The pool of finalists will be further narrowed during the coming weeks, with winners to be announced on Wednesday, September 14, at the MassTLC Leadership Awards Gala at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston.
